Danilo Alves is a Brazilian singer-songwriter from Catu, Bahia. He started performing in local churches and festivals before moving to Salvador, where he joined a band called Marreta You Planeta. His 2017 single "Entenda Que Te Amo" brought him wider attention with its straightforward ballad style.
His music draws from Brazilian forró and sertanejo traditions. Songs like "Meu Mel Meu Céu" and "Deixa Eu Te Amar" follow in that vein, with direct emotional delivery and regional instrumentation. He's released several albums including "Preciso de Você" in 2018 and "Alma de Sertanejo" in 2019.
Alves has worked with musicians including Danilo Pereira on keyboard and accordion, Renan Torres on bass, Nilton Sousa on drums, and Luiz Fernando on percussion. In 2022 he put out a live album recorded in Salvador.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
