Danny Daniels was born Daniel Caldas in the Dominican Republic, where his father was a musician. He started performing in the early 1990s as part of the Puerto Rican duo Kik & Daniel. Their debut album included the song 'Te amo, te quiero y te extraño,' which became a staple in Latin music.
After the duo broke up, Daniels continued as a solo artist. He recorded songs like 'Vals de Las Mariposas' and 'Por el Amor de una Mujer,' which were popular in Latin America and beyond. His keyboardist José Luis was a regular collaborator in the studio and on stage.
In 2006, Daniels faced domestic violence allegations that were later dismissed, but they interrupted his career for a time. He had health problems too, including a heart attack in 2013 that kept him from performing for a while. He died in 2019.
