His playing was known for being fast and clean, with a fingerstyle approach that could handle different kinds of music. He recorded songs like 'Ain't That Peculiar' and 'Break My Mind,' and made other albums including '88 Elmira Street' and 'Cruisin' Deuces.'
Gatton had some personal troubles later on, including an arrest in 1994. He died in 1994.
