Still Tryin'

I had some dream last night and it woke me up,

It wasn't even bad, I guess that I just wasn't sleeping soundly enough,

So I rolled over, blinking at the wall beside my bed,

Even though I tried so hard, I couldn't think of anything else instead.

I just need to entertain,

A different part of my brain,

Cuz I can't sleep,

No, I'm too deeply awake,

Awake, no, I should save it for another day.

Now what would it cost you to tell me really all that's on your mind,

Ya know, I can't see into there and sometimes your meaning can be hard to find,

So let's go over everything we've been all over before,

Even though we said everything, I can't help but think that there might be more.

I just need to understand,

Why you're still tryin' to hold my hand,

When you told me,

That you wanted to be free,

To be free, well I guess it's not so easy.

And I don't know why,

I think that just because you cry,

I means that I should keep trying,

I tried,
