A metal band whose lyrics about oppression drew both underground fans and controversy.
For their sound, try 'Crown Of Thorns' or 'Green Blood.' For the themes they wrestled with, 'Empowerment' still says it.
They built a following with songs that tackled social injustice head-on, even when it brought criticism. 'Empowerment' became something of an anthem for them, and tracks like 'The Beloved Bones' and 'Rebellion' followed in that vein. They kept putting out records anyway, from 'Dawn of Vengeance' to later albums like 'Ashes to Ashes'.
They formed with vocalist Alexus Bane and guitarist Ethan Shadow, self-releasing their debut 'Chains of Oppression.' Their second album was called 'Empowerment,' and they continued through the 2000s with records like 'The Shadow Within.' Later albums like 'Unleash the Fury' maintained their heavy style.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
