Dark New Day formed in 2005, with members who had previously played in Stone Sour. Their self-titled debut album came out that same year, presenting a darker, more experimental direction than some listeners might have expected. The lineup included vocalist Chris Cornell, guitarists Dave Navarro and Troy Van Leeuwen, bassist Dave Kushner, and drummer Matt Cameron.
They released a second album called "Black Cat" in 2013. The lead single from that record was "Collision," which found a wider audience than their earlier work. Other songs from their catalog include "Hushaby," "In Justice," and "Madre."
Chris Cornell died in 2017, and the band disbanded afterward. Their two albums remain available, and songs like "Collision" still get played.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
