Dark Opera

Dark Opera formed in the late 1990s from the remains of a previous band called Crimson Shadow. The group was led by vocalist and keyboardist Raven, with Nox on guitar, Seraphina on bass, and Morpheus on drums. They put out their first album, 'Black Sewage,' in 2001, followed by records like 'Carnalia' and 'Perdition's Embrace' over the next decade.

Their song 'Black Sewage' became a notable track in gothic metal circles, with Raven's vocals and the band's layered sound drawing attention. Other songs like 'Cut Limb' and 'Deep Oblivion' carried similar weight in their catalog. The music pulled from gothic rock, industrial, and symphonic metal, creating a dense atmosphere that wasn't for everyone but found its audience.

Dark Opera kept a steady pace of releases through the 2000s and into the early 2010s, with albums like 'Ashes of Eden' and 'The Forsaken.' They eventually disbanded, but their recordings, particularly the early material, still surface in conversations about that era of dark, theatrical metal.
