Darshan Raval came up in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and started getting attention around 2015 with his version of "Tera Zikr." That track gave him a foothold, and he's kept at it with singles like "Kabhii Tumhhe" and "Kamariya." He works mostly as a solo artist, though he's recorded with people like Neeti Mohan on "Vilayati Sharaab."
His songs tend to lean into straightforward pop with a Bollywood feel, built around melodies that are easy to latch onto. You can hear that in "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga" or the more upbeat "Chogada." He puts out music steadily, singles, a couple albums, without much fuss about reinventing the wheel.
There was some noise a few years back about the "Tera Zikr" recording and claims it borrowed too heavily from something else. Raval said it wasn't true, and it didn't really slow things down. He's kept releasing material since, playing shows with a band when he tours.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
