Darts formed in Barcelona in 1979 as a Spanish pop rock band. The original lineup included Manuel González on vocals and guitar, Pedro Delgado on bass and vocals, Fernando González on guitar, and Carlos Andújar on drums. Their early sound pulled from classic rock and Latin rhythms, though they mostly sang in Spanish.
Their 1980 single "No Me Platiques Mas" became a hit in Spain and helped push them toward wider recognition. Other songs like "Darte Mis Días" and "The Boy From New York City" showed their range across pop and rock. They released several albums through the 1980s, including El Tiempo Pasará in 1981 and Por Eso Te Canto in 1983.
Darts toured Europe and Latin America, building a following with energetic live shows. They sometimes re-recorded songs in English to reach broader audiences, though their core material stayed in Spanish. The band kept a steady output through the mid-80s with albums like Tierras Lejanas and El Alambre de Tu Voz.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
