Datura

Datura formed in Italy around 2000, with Stefan Dabruck on vocals and guitar, Peter Dunda handling keyboards and production, and Miky D on drums. They worked in a space between electronica, rock, and world music, which gave their early material a particular texture. Their debut album, simply called 'Datura,' included the track 'Will Be One,' which became a point of discussion for some listeners who heard echoes of other work in it.

That song, along with others like 'Devotion' and 'A Blackened Shield,' helped define their catalog. They released a few more albums over the next several years, including 'Experience' in 2004 and 'Songbook' in 2008. The band's lineup shifted at times, and their sound evolved somewhat across those records, though it generally stayed within that electronic-rock blend they'd established early on.
