Daúde formed in São Paulo in 2008 with four vocalists and multi-instrumentalists: Janaína Pereira, Luciana Alves, Marina de La Riva, and Daiana Mazza. Their sound pulls from Brazilian rhythms like samba and bossa nova, mixed with folk, jazz, and pop touches.
Their 2009 single 'Quatro Meninas' brought them wider attention in Brazil. They've released three studio albums: 'Daúde' in 2010, 'Dobrar As Montanhas' in 2014, and 'Oxente' in 2019. Other songs include 'Pata Pata' and 'Vida Sertaneja'.
In 2016, they faced criticism over cultural appropriation after a festival performance in the United States, which they addressed by saying they were inspired by various cultures and aimed to celebrate diversity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
