Dave Berry was born David Holgate in Woodford, England. In 1963, producer Mike Smith gave him a recording contract, and his debut single "Memphis, Tennessee" reached number five on the UK charts. The next year, he released "The Crying Game," which topped charts in several countries.
After that, Berry put out songs like "This Strange Effect" and "Little Things." He had a backing band with members like Bob Cracknell on bass and Mick Bucknall on drums. His career kept going into the 1970s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
