Dave Murray is the guitarist who joined Iron Maiden in 1976, a few years before the band's breakthrough. His playing helped define their early sound on albums like 'The Number of the Beast' in 1982. He's been there through the lineup changes and the long tours, one of the constants in a band known for its theatrical live shows.
In 2005, he put out a solo album called 'Chains of Misery,' which gave his guitar work a different setting outside of the Maiden framework. The title track showed a bluesier side. He's still with Iron Maiden, playing on their recent records.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
