Archive material and source history

Dave Rodgers was born David Roland Rodgers in Germany in 1963. He got into electronic dance music in the 1980s and later worked with producer Thorsten Fenslau as part of Culture Beat. That group had hits like "Mr. Vain" and "Got to Get It," but it was "Deja Vu" in 1993 that really broke through internationally.

After Culture Beat, Rodgers went solo in 1997 with albums like "Amen" and "Clubland." His solo work didn't reach the same level as the earlier hits. In 2002, there was a plagiarism accusation over "Deja Vu" that led to a legal settlement, which affected his reputation for a while.

Beyond "Deja Vu," Rodgers has other tracks like "The Final Countdown," "Ale Japan," "Beat Of The Rising Sun," and "Saturday Night Fever." He's still known for his role in Eurodance from that era.
