David Barone came up in Buenos Aires, where he grew up hearing tango and bolero around the house. In the 1970s, he started a band called Barone y Sus Ángeles. The group's name suggested something celestial, but their music stayed grounded in the emotional currents Barone absorbed early on.
Things took off in 1980 with "Cena de Novela." The song's melody and lyrics connected with people, becoming his most recognized work. He followed it with other songs like "Confessar" and "Grêcia," and put out albums including "Éxitos de Siempre" in 1982 and "Tango de Milongas" in 1990.
Later on, Barone worked with different artists, mixing older Latin styles with newer sounds. He kept writing and performing, but "Cena de Novela" remained the track people knew him by.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
