David Kincaid was a Chicago-born singer and guitarist who performed traditional Irish and American folk songs. He joined the Chicago Irish Brigade in 1968, a group of musicians focused on Irish music, and became their lead singer and guitarist. His version of 'Camp Songs of the Chicago Irish Brigade' became particularly associated with him and the band.
Kincaid recorded several albums with the group, including 'The Camp Songs of the Chicago Irish Brigade' in 1969 and 'The Irish Way' in 1972. Another of his notable recordings was 'The Irish-American's Song.' He performed alongside musicians like Liam Clancy, Pat Clancy, and Joe McKenna as part of the ensemble.
In 1980, Kincaid was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer but recovered and continued his musical work.
