They started mixing calypso rhythms with techno beats, which didn't sit well with everyone at first. Traditional calypso listeners weren't sure about the modern twist, and the techno crowd wasn't immediately receptive either.
Their song 'Tecnolypso' came out in 2002 and became their biggest hit. It had that blend of calypso melody with electronic pulse that defined their sound. The band put out albums like 'Calypso do Amazonas' in 2000 and 'Axé e Tecno' in 2004, working within that same fusion territory.
