De Bruces a Mí formed in Guadalajara in 1993 with Rubén Albarrán on lead vocals, Ulises Lozano on guitar and vocals, José Madero on bass, and Arturo Arredondo on drums. They released their first album in 1999, but it was their 2003 album "Encontré Un Lugar" that brought them wider attention. The title track became something of an anthem for their listeners.
Their music pulls from rock and alternative sounds, with some folk touches in the mix. Lyrically, they often work through themes of love and loss, as you can hear in songs like "Tu Amenaza." They've cited The Beatles and Pink Floyd as influences, along with Mexican folk traditions.
In 2004, drummer Arturo Arredondo left the band and was replaced by Alejandro Rosso. They've released six studio albums in total, the most recent being 2011's "Por Donde Sea."
