De Jeito Maneira formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2003, originally with Pedrinho on vocals and guitar, Rafael Almeida on bass, Rodrigo Santos on drums, and Anderson Farias on saxophone. They started playing local bars and festivals, mixing samba, funk, and pop. Their 2010 debut album 'Tudo Nosso' included the single 'Me Chama Que Eu Vou,' which became a hit across Brazil.
Rodrigo Santos left the band in 2014, and Victor Mendes joined as the new drummer. In 2016, a video showed Pedrinho using derogatory language during a performance, leading to a public apology from the band. They kept recording after that, with albums like 'Des' following their earlier work.
Songs like 'A Solidão Me Forçou' and 'Da Boca Pra Fora' show their range from upbeat tracks to more reflective material. Their sound stayed rooted in those Brazilian styles they started with, even as their lineup changed.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
