They released their self-titled debut album the following year. The band's lineup changed over time, but those four were there at the start.
Their 1978 song "Herinneren" became a lasting piece of Dutch popular music. It's one of those tracks that still gets played, along with others like "Achterbank" and "Bloemetjesbehang." They kept making albums into the 1980s, including 1981's "Hartenstrijd."
They were a Dutch band working in a folk-influenced space, sometimes with pop and rock touches. The name translates to "The New String," which fits a group that picked up certain traditional threads.
