Joris had geen hoogtevrees
en toch was hij bang
boven op het flatgebouw
hij stond daar al zo lang
het was ook niet de eerste keer
dat hij een poging ondernam
hij had zich ooit eens laten vallen
op de sporen van de tram
maar op een lijn waar allang
geen tram meer langskwam
nog erger was die keer
dat hij in slaap gevallen was
zijn hoofd nog in de oven
maar waar bleef toch het gas
alles was afgesloten
de factuur was nie betaald
dus z'n hoofd zo in de oven
heeft niet veel utigehaald
arme Joris had voor
de zoveelste keer gefaald
hij heeft het ook eens geprobeerd
met pillen en likeur
hij nam een overdosis
en veranderde van kleur
hij werd een beetje misselijk
daar bleef het helaas niet bij
hij ging niet dood van al die pillen
en smeekte 'God heb medelij'
maar al wat hij kreeg
was gigantische schijterij

de hemel somberdonkergrijs
hij rilde van de kou
zo hoog kan het fel waaien
hij wist niet of hij zou
de zon brak door de wolken heen
ik zie mijn huis van hier
dacht Joris hoog daarboven
en hij voelde plots plezier
en hij dacht het kan niet verder
op die manier
hij nam de lift weer naar beneden
hij had beslist het is gedaan
ik heb al veel te lang geleden
van hieraf moet ik gaan
hij stormde naar buiten
het leven tegemoet
hij hoorde vogels fluiten
oh wat voelde hij zich goed
en hij dacht 'ik neem nu eens
geen taxi maar ik ga te voet'
dat had hij beter niet gedaan
want aan het balkon
waar hij toevallig onderliep
hingen bloemen in de zon
en dat in een grote bloembak
die was net iets te zwaar
en daardoor dat die afbrak
Joris was de sigaar
hij stak een halve meter
diep in het trottoir
