Dead Men Dream formed in 2008 when vocalist and guitarist Ryan Clark met bassist Theo Serafina. They shared an interest in melancholic melodies and introspective lyrics, and began working on music together. Their sound didn't fit neatly into existing categories, so they self-released their debut album 'The Silent Wake' in 2011.
Their third album, 'Angels Wings,' came out in 2016 and included the title track that became one of their better-known songs. Drummer Justin Bennett joined in 2014. The band has put out several albums since, including 'The Shadow's Embrace' in 2018 and 'The Blood of Tyrants' in 2021.
Some listeners have found their dark, atmospheric rock and lyrics about difficult emotions to be a source of comfort. Other songs like 'Insomaniac,' 'Melancholia,' and 'Sacred Ground' reflect similar themes. Clark and Serafina have remained the core members through the band's various releases.
