Dead Poets Society

Dead Poets Society formed in Athens, Georgia in 1991 around vocalist/guitarist Jake Reed and bassist/vocalist John McCauley, with drummer Brad Rice completing the trio. They released their debut album 'Vapor Trail' in 1993, followed by 'Grace Cathedral Park' in 1996, 'Euphoria' in 1998, and 'The World Awake' in 2001 before disbanding that same year.

Their songs like 'Atlantis (A World That Used To Be)' and 'Fade Into The Light' carried a particular atmospheric quality that some critics found overly gloomy, though it resonated with their listeners. The band's catalog includes tracks such as 'Fait Accompli,' 'Wings We Burnt In Silence,' and 'Wounds To Heal' that maintained this consistent mood throughout their decade of activity.
