The day after the apocolypse

When civilization took it's last gasp

We perished like rats, through this wasted land

White light filled the sky, unleashed atomic dreams

Radiation, disease and anarchy

Machines stopped, the world stood still

There was no fuel for the cities and factories

The road became a battleground

People killed one another for a tank of gasoline

Up from the wreckage a warrior emerges

Steel firestorm, enforcer

Driving the last, interceptor

Foot on the gas, black thunder

Relic from the past, road warrior

I am the lord of the wasteland

and I rule with an iron hand

I control fate, I control your fear

Mine to command, mine to destroy

Before the bomb he upheld the law

Devoted, loved, family man

'Till the sight of his family killed drove him mad

Violence, violence breeds a cold nihilist

Scavenging, a broken man, a nomad

He hunted down and made them pay

A dark angel, high speed death on the roadway

A maelstrom, split atom

No one could forsee the signs of doomsday

All would perish

Reborn from the ash, a warrior called max

Bitter avenger behind the wheel, fueled by diesel and blood

I feel nothing, nothing but hate, hear the Holden V8

Road warrior, steed of steel, none may stand in his way

Night rider, hell on wheels, butcher of the highway

There was a tribe held under siege by a horde

Led by lord Humungous, the vermin had truly inherited the earth

Promises, promises made of safe passage,

if they would all just walk away

But they knew his word meant nothing

If they gave up they would all be raped

Raped and slaughtered

A saviour appeared through the valley of death

For a price he would haul the gas away

A man of no hope, with nothing to lose
