Death Becomes You formed in the mid-1990s with Ben Moody on vocals and guitar, Jason Rout on lead guitar, David Bendeth on bass, and Chuck Palmer on drums. Their debut album 'What's That You Say?' came out in 1996, followed by 'Pretty When You Scream' in 1999. The band's sound was built around raw guitar work and Moody's vocals.
Their 2000 album 'The Fight Song' gave them their most recognizable track, which became something of an anthem for certain listeners. They followed it with 'Horizon' in 2003, which incorporated some electronic elements into their rock foundation. The band's live shows were known for being loud and intense.
Internal tensions eventually led to Ben Moody leaving the group in 2006. While they never reached massive commercial heights, 'The Fight Song' remained their calling card, the one track that kept their name in circulation years later.
