Death Before Dishonor

Death Before Dishonor started in Boston in 2001 with vocalist Chad Ruhlig, guitarists Mike Couls and Dan O'Connor, bassist Chris Whetzel, and drummer Matt Welch. They took cues from New York hardcore like Madball and Agnostic Front, along with thrash metal acts such as Metallica and Slayer.

In 2005, the band put out their second album, 'Breaks Through It All,' which included the track 'Break Through It All.' That song became a staple in hardcore circles, known for its raw energy and themes of resilience. They followed it with albums like 'Friends for Life' in 2007 and 'Never Say Die' in 2010, touring the U.S. and Europe with bands like Sick of It All and Hatebreed.

Other songs in their catalog, such as 'Remember' and 'Better Ways To Die,' reflect their straightforward, aggressive style. They've kept a steady presence in the hardcore scene without much fanfare, sticking to their roots in Boston's music community.
