Death Defeat

Death Defeat formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s as a quartet playing raw, emotive rock. They spent their early years rehearsing and playing gigs in dive bars while dealing with the typical financial constraints and lineup changes that come with starting a band.

In 2001, they released their debut album 'Echoes of Despair,' which earned critical attention for its introspective lyrics and guitar work. This led to a record deal and more visibility. Their 2004 album 'Stay Beside Me' became their most successful release, with the title track resonating with listeners as a ballad about love and loss.

They followed with albums in 2007 and later, continuing to work through the challenges that come with being in a band. Their music stayed grounded in that emotive rock sound they developed in those Los Angeles dive bars years earlier.
