Debauchery

Debauchery is a German death metal band that started in 1996 with Thomas Gurrath, who goes by Thomas "The Butcher" Gurrath on vocals and guitar. Their music leans heavily into gore-themed lyrics and aggressive sound, with songs like "Blood for the Bloodgod" and "King of Killing" representing their style. They've put out albums such as Opprobrium in 1999 and Blood for the Bloodgod in 2011.

Their live shows sometimes involve theatrical elements like fake blood, which has drawn attention alongside their graphic lyrical content. The band has seen lineup changes over time, with members including Michael "The Hammer" Bollenbach on bass and Sebastian "Eruption" Maus on drums at points. Other tracks like "Carnival Carnage" and "3 Riff Hit" continue in their straightforward death metal vein.

Debauchery's work hasn't always been widely embraced, facing some criticism early on, but they've maintained a consistent output focused on extreme themes. Their discography includes releases like Rape of the Blessed from 2003 and Enemy of Christ from 2007, sticking to their established sound without much deviation.
