Décio e Darley were a Brazilian duo from Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, active in the 1970s and 1980s. They were known for songs that dealt with everyday life and sometimes difficult subjects, like their track 'A Mãezinha do Menino' about a mother's love. Their music mixed sertanejo with elements of MPB, Brazilian Popular Music.
Their 1976 self-titled debut was followed by albums like 'Nosso Mundo' in 1977 and 'Vida de Caibra' in 1980. They also released a live album in 1982. Another well-known song of theirs is 'Carteiro Amigo'.
Décio Antônio da Silva handled lead vocals and songwriting until his death in 2013. Darley Lessa da Silva played guitar and sang backing vocals. Their lyrics occasionally drew criticism for addressing social issues directly, but they maintained a following in Brazil.
They recorded through the mid-1980s, with 'Canções de Fé' coming out in 1985. Their music remains part of the Brazilian sertanejo landscape from that period.
