Deck66 formed in Barcelona around 2016. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year, and the track "Basta Querer" caught on quickly with Spanish-speaking listeners.
The band includes Enric García on vocals, Rubén Sabater on guitar, Santi Doménech on bass, and Brian Noguera on drums. They put out two more albums after that first one: "Nada en su sitio" in 2019 and "Los tiempos que corren" in 2022.
In 2020, there was some noise online about the melody for "Basta Querer" sounding similar to an older Colombian song. The discussion faded, but it was a reminder of how those conversations go in pop music.
