Declinius formed in São Paulo in 2007 with Bruno Melo on vocals, Daniel Seti on guitar, and Paulo Reis on drums. Their debut album 'Declínio' came out the following year.
Their song 'Ainda Te Amo' became particularly well-known, a ballad about lingering feelings after a relationship ends. Other tracks like '23 de Julho' and 'Chances Perdidas' followed similar emotional territory.
In 2011, there was some talk about plagiarism accusations, though those were eventually dismissed. The band's music tended to focus on themes of lost love and melancholy.
