Darrijane Lopes and Geraldão formed the Brazilian duo D&G in the late 1990s. Their debut album was called 'Primeiro, Segundo e Terceiro Amor,' which included the title track that became widely known. They followed it with albums like 'A Carta' and 'Nosso Amor.'
Darrijane sang while Geraldão played accordion, keyboard, and guitar. Their music often dealt with romantic themes, and some of their lyrics drew attention for touching on sensitive topics. In 2003, they had a legal dispute over song copyright, which they eventually won.
They released several more albums through the 2000s and into the 2010s, including 'Ao Vivo,' 'Acústico,' and 'Atemporal.' Their songs remained popular in Brazil, particularly 'Primeiro, Segundo e Terceiro Amor,' which stayed in circulation as a recognizable piece of their work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
