Demented Are Go

Demented Are Go formed in London around 1978, coming together from members who had been in The Damned. The group included Martin van Drunen (Crun), Phil Campbell on drums, Mark Perry on bass, and Nick Turner on vocals. Their debut album came out in 1982, followed by records like 'In Sickness and In Health' and 'Kicked Out of Hell' later in the decade.

Their song 'When Death Rides A Horse' became something of a signature track, with its dark themes and driving rhythm. They also recorded versions of older songs like 'Be Bop a Lula' and 'Funnel of Love,' putting their own rough-edged spin on them. Other original tracks included 'Holy Hack Jack' and '(I Was Born On A) Busted Hymen.'

The band's live shows were known for being loud and confrontational, which sometimes got them into trouble with venues or authorities. Their lyrics and stage presence tended to draw strong reactions, both positive and negative, from audiences and critics alike.

Over time, the lineup shifted. By some accounts, Stu West eventually took over vocal duties. They kept recording into the 2000s, putting out an album called 'Supernatural' in 2006. A compilation titled 'The Best of Demented Are Go' was released in 1993.
