Dementede

Dementede formed in 2003 with vocalist Silas Blackwood, guitarist Ethan Cole, bassist Emily Gray, and drummer Jasper Thorne. Their early sound mixed heavy metal and alternative rock, and they built a following through steady touring despite financial struggles. The band released their debut album 'Into the Abyss' in 2007, which included the track 'Crumbling' that connected with younger listeners.

Blackwood's lyrics often dealt with mental illness and drug abuse, which drew criticism from some quarters. As their profile grew, internal tensions increased, particularly around Blackwood's substance use and unpredictable stage presence. The band recorded other songs like 'Resurrection' and 'Stoned' during this period.

By the time they were working on material like 'Twentyeight', the group's dynamic had become strained. They eventually stopped performing together, though their recordings from that era continue to circulate among fans of that particular heavy rock sound.
