Dements formed in Barcelona in the early 2000s when Jordi Aramendía and Esther Rodríguez began working together. Their 2004 debut album was called 'Fragments,' and the following year they released the track 'Senoidal' that became their most recognizable work. They've put out several albums since, including 'Diagrams' in 2008 and 'Petrichor' in 2017.

Their music tends toward experimental electronica with a haunting quality. Beyond 'Senoidal,' other songs like 'Agora e Sempre' and 'Não Fuja De Si' show their preference for atmospheric soundscapes rather than conventional pop structures. They've built a following through live performances that emphasize immersive experiences.

The group has expanded beyond the original duo at times, though the core creative partnership has remained. They've generally avoided mainstream commercial paths in favor of their own approach to electronic music.
