Archive material and source history
Deni Allison came up in Salvador, Bahia, where she grew up around the local sounds of bossa nova, samba, and axé. She started singing at local events as a teenager. When she was 20, producer Rick Bonadio heard her and offered a deal. Her first single, 'Aconteceu,' came out in 2004 and caught on quickly with its dance beat and her voice.
Her early albums included 'Livre pra Voar' in 2007 and 'Sorriso Novo' in 2010. Songs like 'Vai Esquentar' and 'Vai Ter Que Se Jogar' kept her on Brazilian radio. She worked with a regular band that included Rafael Almeida on guitar, Rodrigo Tavares on bass, Bruno Lambreta on drums, and Leandro Santos on keyboards.
In 2006, she performed at the 'Show do Milionário' in Niterói, which drew criticism for its content. She kept making music that mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop. She won a Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira award at some point.
