Depois do Antes

Depois do Antes formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Dani Black on vocals, Luca Argel on multiple instruments, Guto Guerra on guitar, and Fabio Sampaio on drums. Their name translates to 'After Before,' which gives a sense of their interest in playing with time and expectation. They put out their first album in 2008, followed by others like 'O Que É Que Há?' in 2011 and '¡Now!' in 2014.

Their song '¡Now!' became their most recognizable track, a mix of electronic beats and airy vocals that got used in various films and ads. Other songs from their catalog, like 'Lost In My Mind' and 'Restless Sadness,' show a similar tendency toward introspective lyrics and layered production. Black's writing often deals with love and loss, set against Argel's and Guerra's textured arrangements.
