Deranged came out of Los Angeles in the early 2000s with a thrash metal sound built on guttural vocals and blistering riffs. Their debut album was called "Festering," which is also the title of one of their songs. The band's lineup has included Ryan Forsythe on vocals, Mike Davis and Dave Malkovich on guitar, Dan Ricker on bass, and Dave Alexander on drums.
Their music often dealt with confrontational themes, and they faced criticism for some of their lyrical content. They released several albums after "Festering," including "Mangled Flesh" in 2006, "Plague of Insanity" in 2009, "Desolation" in 2013, and "The Deranged" in 2017.
