Their song 'Hino dos Desbravadores' became an anthem for the youth ministry that shares their name.
Their first album came out in 1974, simply called 'Desbravadores.' It included that hymn along with other early songs. The band's lineup changed over time, with Cruz staying at the center. Other members like Fernando Rodrigues, Jairo Ribeiro, and Cláudio Henrique sang, and Márcio Gonçalo played guitar.
Some people in the Adventist community resisted their more modern approach at first. But their music caught on with younger listeners. Songs like 'A Caminho do Céu' and 'Diamante' became part of their catalog, used in youth gatherings and camps.
