Descontrole Remoto formed in 1993 in Grajaú, a working-class neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The original lineup included vocalist Ratinho, guitarist Fino, bassist Binho, and drummer Sérgio. They played punk rock that spoke to their local community, building a following in the underground scene.
Their lyrics were blunt and often profane, dealing with sex, drugs, and violence in a way that challenged social norms. Songs like "Fucking song" and "Aperte os cintos" carried that confrontational energy. In 1994, they were arrested on obscenity charges after performing at a public concert, which only solidified their reputation as provocateurs.
