Devan

Devan formed in Brooklyn with vocalist Devin James, guitarists Evan Moore and Ethan Hayes, bassist Ryan Carter, and drummer Alex Thompson. Their debut album was called "Nightfall," followed by "Elegy for the Lost." The song "Alone In The Night" became their most recognizable track, getting airplay on alternative radio stations. Another song, "I Wanna Be With You," appears in their catalog.

Their lyrics tended toward confessional themes, which sometimes drew criticism for being too bleak. The band stuck with that approach anyway, figuring the music served a purpose for listeners who connected with it. They weren't trying to write anthems so much as document specific emotional states.
