Devaur formed in 2004 around multi-instrumentalist Greg Laswell, guitarist Adam Freed, and drummer Shane Smith. They took their name from a Los Angeles street where Laswell had lived. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2007, followed by 'One Good Thing' in 2011 after a fire destroyed some of the initial recordings.
Their song 'Anymore' became widely known in 2013. Other tracks like 'Evergreen' and 'Fright' also appear in their catalog. The band's sound has been described as blending folk, rock, and ambient elements.
Devaur released the album 'Stars' in 2016. The group's work often explores themes of emotion and vulnerability through Laswell's songwriting.
