Devourment

Devourment formed in Dallas in 1995 and put out their first album, 'Molesting the Decapitated,' in 1999. That record, along with songs like 'Baby Killer' and 'Fucked To Death,' helped define what people came to call brutal death metal, a style built on low-tuned guitars, guttural vocals, and deliberately shocking subject matter.

They followed with 'Butcher the Weak' in 2000 and 'Unleash the Carnivore' in 2004, which included the track 'Shroud Of Encryption.' The band's lineup has changed over time; the current one features Ruben Rosas on vocals, Chris Andrews and Kevin Clark on guitars, Brad Fincher on bass, and Dave Spencer on drums.

Devourment's later albums include 'Conceived in Sewage' from 2005 and 'Butchered at Birth,' which arrived in 2019. Their sound has stayed consistent, heavy, fast, and unapologetically graphic, which has kept them a reference point in extreme metal circles for more than two decades.
