Background notes

Archive material and source history

DHC formed in Brasília in 1997 with Marcelo Camelo on vocals and guitar, Rodrigo Amarante on bass, Fred Ferreira on guitar and keyboards, and Tulipa Ruiz on drums. They worked in a space between rock, samba, and folk, which didn't fit neatly into the categories of the time.

Their song 'E Tao Estranho' drew attention for its direct lyrics about desire and incest, which some listeners found unsettling. The band's second album, 'E Vao Embora As Flores,' arrived in 2001 and was received more warmly by critics. They released three studio albums in total, the last being 'Dilúvio' in 2003.
