Didi e Claudinho were a Brazilian duo from Rio de Janeiro who started making music together in the early 1990s. Edílson "Didi" Nascimento and Cláudio Junior "Claudinho" de Souza sang with a harmony that caught on quickly, and their song "Sou Teu" became one of their best-known tracks.
The pair faced some criticism about their personal relationship being used for promotion, and there were legal issues that complicated things.
In 2002, Claudinho was killed in a drive-by shooting. Didi kept recording afterward, putting out solo albums and collaborations that sometimes mixed in rock or gospel sounds, but he often returned to the style they had built together.
