Background notes

Archive material and source history

Didier Super (Et Sa Discomobile) was a French disco project that came together in 1979 when singer-songwriter Didier Barbelivien teamed up with producer Jean-Pierre Bourtayre. They brought in musicians like Francis Rimbert, Michel Sanchez, Michel Amsellem, and Jean-Marc Jouannic to round out the group.

Their 1980 single "J'ai Oublié de Vivre" became a major hit in France, spending weeks at the top of the charts. That song anchored their self-titled debut album from the same year, which was followed by another album also called "J'ai Oublié de Vivre."

In 1984, they released an album called "Rock Etronique" that included a cover of the Sex Pistols' "God Save the Queen." The album's title and content stirred some debate at the time. The project released five studio albums in total before winding down.
