Digo Bittar

Digo Bittar formed his band in 1995 with guitarist Rodrigo Gonçalves, bassist André Terra, and drummer André Matos. Their debut album "Hey Charlie" found an audience in Brazil, establishing them as a rock act with some staying power. The song "Hey Charlie" became one of their better-known tracks, though it was later the subject of plagiarism allegations that were eventually resolved.

Their music, including songs like "Alma Gêmea" and "Menino Perigo," connected with listeners in Brazil and other parts of Latin America. The band's lineup changed over time, with Fabiano Carelli eventually taking over on drums. They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like "Cidade de Deus" in 2002 and "Manual" in 2006.

Digo Bittar himself wrote lyrics that often touched on social and political themes, which sometimes drew criticism alongside the praise. The band worked with various collaborators, but their core sound remained grounded in the rock influences Bittar had absorbed growing up in São Paulo.
