Digo Roots

Digo Roots formed in Belém, Brazil in 2004, starting as a local reggae group with vocalist Diguinho. They built an audience with straightforward melodies and lyrics that often touched on everyday concerns. Their 2012 single "Você Não Me Interessa Mais" became their breakthrough, a song about moving past a relationship that connected with listeners across the country.

In 2015, Diguinho was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He underwent treatment and returned to performing, an experience that informed their music. They released albums like "Raízes" in 2008 and "Fogueira" in 2016. Other songs in their catalog include "Eu Não Busco Dinheiro" and "Flor da Natureza."

The band includes Diguinho on vocals, with Ricardo on drums, Ivan on bass, Carlos on guitar, and Maciel on keyboard. Their sound pulls from reggae and Brazilian rhythms, with nods to artists like Bob Marley and Gilberto Gil in their approach rather than direct imitation.
