Dimhymn formed in Stockholm in the early 1990s around vocalist Anders Nyström, guitarist Lars Noläng, and bassist Mattias Norrman. Their first album, 'Hymns of Darkness,' came out in 1995 and mixed atmospheric black metal with melodic touches. Songs like 'Ceremony Of The Devil' and 'Det Svarta Djupet' show that early sound.
They kept touring anyway, building a following that stuck with them. The band's lineup shifted over time, with keyboardist Peter Tägtgren and drummer Nicklas Isfeldt coming and going at different points.
Later albums like 'Death Cult Armageddon' and 'Divine Conspiracy' added symphonic and progressive elements to their black metal foundation. They worked with guest musicians like Johanna Andersson and Angela Gosso on some recordings. The track 'Drakoforism' reflects that more layered approach.
