Their debut album 'Memory Tapes' came out in 2004, but it was 2008's 'Crossing the Cannon' that got them wider attention. The title track became something of an anthem for their fans.
In 2010, Gast left the band and was replaced by Ryan Smith on bass. The group kept recording, putting out 'Habitual' in 2015 and 'Hide the Silver' in 2018. Lee remained the central figure through these lineup shifts.
In 2013, Lee faced sexual misconduct allegations from multiple women, which he denied. Songs like 'Family Waves' and 'Sleeping In' show their mix of indie rock with psychedelic touches.
